Terms of Use & License

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PhotoEditRocket software and the photoeditrocket.com website ("Service"), operated by an independent solo developer ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using PhotoEditRocket, you agree to these Terms.

1. License grant

Free for personal use. PhotoEditRocket is free to use for personal work, in the browser and in the downloadable offline build, with no licence key and no payment. This is the complete software: every tool, every effect, every template, unlimited exports, at full resolution and with no watermark. Nothing is held back, no feature is locked, and there is no trial period that runs out. “Personal use” is defined in section 2.

A licence covers commercial use. If you use PhotoEditRocket for commercial work — as defined in section 2 — you need a current licence. A licence grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use PhotoEditRocket on your own devices for commercial and client work. A licence is for one person and may be installed on up to three of your own devices simultaneously.

Timed licences (30 days, 1 year, 5 years) and the Lifetime licence. Each grants the same commercial rights on the same terms, for the period bought; the Lifetime licence is perpetual. Each is a single payment that does not renew — see section 5. No feature is held back from any of them, because no feature is held back from anyone: the plans differ only in how long the commercial permission lasts.

2. Personal use and commercial use

Personal use means using PhotoEditRocket for your own purposes, where you are not paid for the result and it is not for or on behalf of a business. Photographs of your family, artwork you make for yourself, images for a personal blog or social account, images for a school or university course, images for a hobby project, and images for a registered charity or a non-profit community group all count as personal use.

Commercial use means anything else. In particular: work you are paid for; work produced for or on behalf of an employer, a business, or a client; images used to advertise, promote, package, list or sell a product or service; images used in content that earns money, including monetised video, sponsored posts and affiliate content; and images produced as part of a business's own operations. If you are unsure which side of the line a piece of work falls on, treat it as commercial, or write to us and ask.

How this is enforced: it isn't. We want to be plain about this rather than imply otherwise. The software does not check what you are using it for and does not report on you — it makes no network request about your licence at all, in either direction. Every tool behaves identically whether or not a licence key is present. This section is a licence condition and we rely on you to honour it. That is a deliberate choice — we would rather trust everybody and be wrong about some of them than treat every user as a suspect.

Your images are yours either way. You own and may keep, publish and sell any outputs (images, graphics) you create with PhotoEditRocket, without restriction and without any claim by us, regardless of which side of the line above your use falls on. Section 2 limits the permission to run the software commercially; it does not attach any condition, licence or royalty to the files it produces.

3. What you may not do

You may not: (a) sell, sublicense, redistribute, or transfer the PhotoEditRocket application or your license key to another person; (b) reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the software except to the extent permitted by applicable law; (c) use PhotoEditRocket to build a competing product; or (d) share your license key publicly.

4. Updates and future versions

Updates are free for everyone, licensed or not — the editor you run or download is the current version, and nothing about updates is gated by a licence. A licence is not a subscription to updates; it is permission to use the software commercially for its term (or permanently, for a Lifetime License).

When a timed licence ends, the software keeps working and keeps updating. The only thing that ends is permission to use it commercially, until you renew.

5. Licence terms and expiry

Every plan is a single payment. Nothing on this site auto-renews, nothing is charged on a schedule, and no payment method is stored for future use. There is no subscription to cancel, no billing portal to find, and no renewal date to remember — if you want another term when one ends, you buy one.

The timed licences. A 30-day licence lasts 30 days from purchase, a 1-year licence one year, and a 5-year licence five years. Each grants the same licence described in section 1 for that period.

What happens when a term ends. Nothing is taken away and nothing is added. The application still opens, every file you have made still opens, no feature is removed, exports stay clean and unwatermarked, and there is no export limit. The only thing that ends is the permission to use PhotoEditRocket for commercial work under section 2 — so if you use it personally, an expired licence changes nothing at all about what you can do. Images you exported while your licence was active are unaffected and remain yours under section 2, permanently, including anything you produced commercially during the term.

No price surprises. Because nothing recurs, a price change does not affect a licence you have already bought. If we change what a term costs, that applies only to purchases made afterwards.

6. Refunds

30-day, no-questions-asked money-back guarantee. Email support@photoeditrocket.com from your checkout email address within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you in full. You do not need to give a reason.

Where we sell. Commercial licences are not on sale yet while the editor is in beta, and will not be sold in the EU or UK. The app stays free for personal use everywhere. Nothing in these Terms limits a consumer right that cannot be excluded by law, wherever a purchase is made.

Timed licences. The same 30-day guarantee applies to a 30-day, 1-year or 5-year licence. Because nothing renews, there are no later charges to dispute — a refund simply ends the licence you bought.

7. Acceptable use

You agree to use PhotoEditRocket and this website lawfully and in compliance with the laws of your country. We may suspend or revoke a license used in breach of these Terms.

8. Intellectual property & DMCA

The PhotoEditRocket name, logo, and software are our property. You retain all rights to images and content you create with PhotoEditRocket. If you believe content on this site infringes your copyright, send a DMCA notice with the elements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3) to support@photoeditrocket.com. We will respond promptly.

9. Open-source components and font notices

PhotoEditRocket includes open-source libraries and fonts under their own licences (MIT, Apache 2.0, SIL Open Font License). Every required notice is reproduced on our Third-Party Licenses page and ships with the software in try-app/fonts/OFL.txt and try-app/vendor/.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

PhotoEditRocket is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free or uninterrupted. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer-protection law (including the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and equivalent EU implementing law).

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for your license, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. This does not limit liability that cannot be excluded by law (such as fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence).

12. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Please email support@photoeditrocket.com first so we can resolve any dispute informally — nearly everything is settled that way. If that does not work, disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Illinois, and we each agree to that venue. Nothing in this section limits any consumer right you hold that cannot be waived under the law of the place where you live, including the right to bring a claim in your local courts where that law gives you one.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when our practices change. We will post the revised Terms with an updated effective date and, for material changes, surface a notice on the homepage for at least 14 days. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

14. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Cookies notice, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding PhotoEditRocket. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of that right. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to a successor in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
